They have linked in the colour scheme to the front cover the blue and the white, this shows that they take their magazine seriously and wants to show that they have order, instead of just random colours everyhere. The main photo image has been staged, the have gotten the model to look directly at the camera suggesting that he is looking at the reader, this almost makes the audience feel a part of the magazine, instead of him just looking away like the other model. It is very much image based they have used minimal amount of text, this shows that they know their audience, and they know their audience would rather look at images throughout the magazine then have a lot of text to read. They have stuck the least amount of text that they can, this could symbolise that they only focus on the important things when asking there bands and artists questions. They have used mise-en-scene by putting them into a music studio; this also gives some indication to what this band is about and what they do.
The colour scheme they have used is very negative, the Black, white and red symbolise the genre of the music which is Rock or Heavy Metal, this will be a running theme throughout the magazine because they would want to show their genre as what it is. The photos and the facial expressions and body language shows them being natural, this a symbol of their band and their music that they are real and not fake in anyway. The masthead is also a pull out qoute, this shows that they are interested in the band they are writing about, by putting their masthead as what the artist has said. The colours are all dark and have the same sort of type of feel to them, they are feel negative, this could be a representation of the genre of music, they have used the colour red to break up the dark, harsh colours. They have gone for a more image heavy approach which is good because then their readers don’t feel like they have to read masses and masses of text to get the information they need they have simply just put clear cut points. The Masthead is linking in with the other Masthead lower down the page, it has a shattered effect and almost dirty it isn’t a clean colour, I think they have used this to represent the genre of music that they are featuring in this magazine.
