Comparisons with CLASH magazine

This is my Front Cover. I first discovered CLASH magazine when i was doing my research on Front Covers, Contents pages and Double page spreads, i thought that it was the most like the design and structure that i would want to use on my magazine. As you can see from the CLASH cover it is minimilistic which is what i had already set out for, it was helpful for me to have a magazine that had the same look that i wanted because I could see how it would look and if it worked. I also liked the idea of a single model on the cover, when i had done my questionnaire for my demographic they picked to have single model, it keeps with minimilistic appearance by not putting masses of images all over the cover. There are many similaraties between the two, i do still believe that i have kept to all of the conventions that make it a realisitic Cover.

This is my masthead on my Front Cover. As you can see the two look very similar, i have taken from CLASH some techniques such as putting it in upper case letters this stands out dramatcially and will grab the attention of the reader, it also could symbolise how bold and strong the magazine is. I have also put it right at the top again to make it stand out.

This is my Double page Spread. I feel that this is the more realistic to a magazine, this has happened because it looks most like the one from CLASH, i havent just copied it straight from CLASH i have also added in my own touches and style to keep in distinctive to my magazine, i wanted to make my magazine unqiue to represent the genre. By having the interview on the left it gives the DPS a tidy look, and doesnt take away from the main part which is the image.

This is my main headings and sub-headings of the Double page spread. I went for the same style of a different DPS of CLASH magazine, i felt that this was a stylish way of presenting the headings and sub-headings instead of just having the same font and putting it in an order, it is disorganised but not in a messy manor, it still looks like it is minimilistic.

This is the photo of my Double page spread. I have taken ideas from the photo on the right from CLASH magazine, in the way of there being shadows on the face and body it gives the artist mystery and also keeps to the style of the magazine. although the image on the right is not edited as much as my own i had to add my own touch to it so not to look as if i have just completely stolen their idea.
